82. (1) An incorporated association may apply to the Registrar for permission to apply for registration of the association under the Corporations Law as a company limited by guarantee.
(2) The Registrar shall give an incorporated association permission to apply for registration of the association under the Corporations Law as a company limited by guarantee if—
(a) the association has, by special resolution, resolved to apply for registration of the association under that Law as a company limited by guarantee; and
(b) an application lodged with the Registrar by the association pursuant to subsection (1)—
(i) is in the approved form;
(ii) is signed by the public officer and 2 members of the committee of the association;
(iii) is accompanied by any prescribed documents; and
(iv) includes a statement to the effect that the special resolution referred to in paragraph (a) has been duly passed by the association.
