ANIMAL WELFARE LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 2019 (NO. 35 OF 2019) - SECT 13

Laying poison

Section 12A (3) to (5)

substitute

    (3)     A person commits an offence if—

        (a)     the person lays a poison in a way in which the poison is not intended to be used; and

        (b)     the poison could kill or injure a domestic or native animal.

Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.

    (4)     An offence against subsection (3) is a strict liability offence.
