Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts(1) Without limiting section 78, an authorised person exercising a power under this part may bring to, or on to, premises or a vehicle any equipment reasonably necessary to examine or process things found at the premises or in the vehicle to decide whether they are things that may be seized.
(2) The authorised person, or a person assisting the authorised person, may operate equipment already at the premises or in the vehicle to carry out the examination or processing of a thing found at the premises or in the vehicle, to decide whether it is a thing that may be seized, if the authorised person or person assisting believes on reasonable grounds that—
(a) the equipment is suitable for the examination or processing; and
(b) the examination or processing can be carried out without damage to the equipment or thing.
