Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts(1) A police officer serving a copy of an emergency order on a respondent must, as far as is practicable in the circumstances, explain to the respondent the purpose, terms and effect of the order and the consequences of contravening the order.
(2) The failure of a police officer to comply with subsection (1) does not affect the validity of the service of the emergency order.
