MOTOR VEHICLES (DIMENSIONS AND MASS) ACT 1990 (NO. 13 OF 1990) - SECT 29

29. An application for a permit shall—

        (a)     be in a form approved by the Registrar and be signed by the applicant;

        (b)     be lodged with the Registrar not less than 28 days before—

              (i)     in the case of a vehicle to which section 28 applies—the day on which the current registration of the vehicle under the Motor Traffic Act expires or the current permit issued in respect of the vehicle expires; or

              (ii)     in any other case—the day on which the vehicle to which the application relates is to be used, or is first to be used, in circumstances for which a permit will be required;

or at such other time before that day as the Registrar allows;

and

        (c)     be accompanied by the determined fee.
