Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts(1) This section applies if the relationship of a person with his or her parents, or with either of them, is to be decided under a Territory law, whether in a proceeding before a court or otherwise.
(2) The relationship must be decided without regard to whether the parents of the person are or have ever been married to each other.
(3) All other relationships of or to the person, whether of consanguinity or affinity, must be decided in the same way.
(4) This section is subject to section 39.
(5) In this section:
"affinity" means affinity derived through marriage or any other domestic partnership.
