Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts(1) If a person begins an action in a court against the owner or driver of an insured motor vehicle involved in a motor accident for damages in relation to death, or bodily injury, caused by, or arising out of the use of, the vehicle, the person must serve a copy of the originating process in the action on the authorised insurer for the vehicle.
(2) Before taking any further step in the action, the person must file in the court an affidavit of service of the process on the authorised insurer.
