(1) The residents of a retirement village may meet to consider and vote on—
(a) any matter for which the consent of the residents is required under this Act; and
(b) any other matter affecting the management and operation of the village; and
(c) any other matter prescribed by regulation.
(2) A vote of the residents on a matter mentioned in subsection (1) (b) does not bind the operator of the village.
(3) If 2 or more residents occupy the same residential premises in the village, each of them may vote on a matter mentioned in subsection (1).
(4) A meeting of residents must not be held simultaneously with a meeting that the residents, in another capacity, are required to hold or participate in under another Act.

(5) The operator of a retirement village commits an offence if the operator interferes with a resident exercising a power under subsection (1).
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
(6) An offence against subsection (5) is a strict liability offence.
