Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts Australian Capital Territory Numbered Acts(1) In the exercise, or purported exercise, of a function under this part, a WELS inspector must take all reasonable steps to ensure that the inspector, and anyone assisting the inspector, causes as little inconvenience, detriment and damage as is practicable.
(2) If a WELS inspector, or a person assisting a WELS inspector, damages anything in the exercise, or purported exercise, of a function under this part, the inspector must give written notice of the particulars of the damage to the person who the inspector believes, on reasonable grounds, is the owner of the thing.
(3) If the damage happens on premises entered under this part in the absence of the occupier, the notice may be given by securing it in a conspicuous place on the premises.
