1991 No. 329 EXPLOSIVES REGULATIONS - REG 18

Requirements for road vehicles
18. (1) Subject to subregulation (3), Commonwealth explosives must not be
loaded onto a motor vehicle, or onto an articulated vehicle, if:

   (a)  in the case of a vehicle that:

        (i)    is manufactured on or after the date of commencement of these
               Regulations; or

        (ii)   was manufactured before that date and is used primarily for the
               transport of explosives;
it does not comply with Part 1 of Schedule 3; and

   (b)  in any other case it does not comply with clauses 1 and 2 of Part 2 of
        Schedule 3.
(2) In subregulation (1), "articulated vehicle" includes a motor vehicle,
together with a semi-trailer that is intended to be attached to that motor
vehicle or to another semi-trailer that is intended to be attached to that
motor vehicle, if, at the time of loading, the semi-trailer has not been so
attached.

(3) Commonwealth explosives may be loaded onto a mechanical handling vehicle
that does not comply with sub-subparagraph 7 (a) (i) (b), subparagraph 7 (a)
(ii), paragraph 7 (c) or paragraph 7 (e) of Part 1 of Schedule 3.

(4) Commonwealth explosives must not be loaded onto a trailer (including a
semi-trailer) that does not comply with Part 2 of Schedule 3.

(5) Commonwealth explosives must not be loaded onto a road vehicle that is in
a dangerous or defective condition or is otherwise unsuitable for the carriage
of those explosives.
