1991 No. 329 EXPLOSIVES REGULATIONS - REG 33
Fire
33. (1) Subject to subregulation (2), if there is a fire on a road vehicle
being used to transport Commonwealth explosives:
(a) the driver of the vehicle, any attendant on the vehicle and the
supervisor of the transportation must, so far as practicable attempt
to extinguish the fire; and
(b) the supervisor:
(i) must, so far as practicable, ensure that the requirements
specified in paragraph 32 (1) (b) are observed as if regulation
32 were applicable; and
(ii) must, if necessary, request assistance from the nearest fire
brigade to extinguish the fire; and
(iii) may give any directions that the supervisor reasonably
considers necessary to the driver or to any attendant on the
vehicle in relation to:
(A) the extinction of the fire; or
(B) the protection of life or property in the vicinity of the
explosives.
(2) If there is a fire on a road vehicle that is being used to transport a
small load of Commonwealth explosives in accordance with regulation 14, the
driver of the vehicle, any attendant accompanying the vehicle and any
supervisor of the transportation of those explosives must, as far as
practicable, do their best to extinguish the fire.
