1991 No. 329 EXPLOSIVES REGULATIONS - REG 78

Meetings
78. (1) The Senior Member is to convene such meetings of the Committee as are
necessary for the performance of its function.

(2) If:

   (a)  the Senior Member is:
     (i)   absent from duty through illness; or


        (ii)   absent from Australia; or

        (iii)  for any other reason, unable to perform the duties of the
               office of Senior Member; or

   (b)  there is a vacancy in the office of Senior Member; the Deputy Senior
        Member is to convene such meetings of the Committee as are necessary
        for the performance of its function.

(3) The Senior Member or, in the Senior Member s absence from a meeting of the
Committee, the Deputy Senior Member presides at all meetings of the Committee
at which he or she is present.

(4) If the Senior Member and the Deputy Senior Member are not present at a
meeting of the Committee, the members present must elect 1 of their number to
preside at that meeting.

(5) At a meeting of the Committee, a quorum is constituted by 4 members.

(6) A question arising at a meeting of the Committee is determined by a
majority of votes of the members present and voting.

(7) The person presiding at a meeting of the Committee has a deliberative vote
and, in the event of equality of votes, also has a casting vote.
