SYDNEY HARBOUR FEDERATION TRUST REGULATIONS 2001 2001 No. 296 - REG 30

Request to state name and address
(1)
A ranger or warden who believes on reasonable grounds that a person on Trust land has committed, or is committing, an offence against these Regulations may request the person to state his or her full name and residential address.

(2)
A person must not fail to comply with a request made to the person under subregulation (1).

Penalty:
5 penalty units.

(3)
A person must not, in purported compliance with a request made to the person under subregulation (1), give information that the person knows to be false or misleading.

Penalty:
5 penalty units.

(4)
However, a person does not commit an offence under subregulation (2) or
(3)
unless the ranger or warden, at the time of making the request:

(a)
produced his or her identity card, or identification as a police officer; and

(b)
warned the person that the failure to comply with the request is an offence.

(5)
An offence against subregulation (2) is an offence of strict liability.
