- (1)
- A ranger or warden who believes on reasonable grounds that a person on
Trust land has committed, or is committing, an offence against these
Regulations may request the person to state his or her full name and
residential address.
- (2)
- A person must not fail to comply with a request
made to the person under subregulation (1).
Penalty:
5 penalty units.
- (3)
- A person must not, in purported compliance with a request made to the person
under subregulation (1), give information that the person knows to be false or
misleading.
Penalty:
5 penalty units.
- (4)
- However, a person does not
commit an offence under subregulation (2) or
- (3)
- unless the ranger or warden,
at the time of making the request:
- (a)
- produced his or her identity card,
or identification as a police officer; and
- (b)
- warned the person that the failure to comply with the request is an
offence.
- (5)
- An offence against subregulation (2) is an offence of strict liability.
