(1)  Clauses 1 , 2 , 3 and 11 take effect on the day on which the making of this order is notified in the Gazette.

(2)  The remaining provisions of this order take effect on the day on which copies of certificates of the results of the elections to be held on 25 August 1998 are published in the Gazette under section 304 of the Local Government Act 1993 .
