(1) A driver must not drive in an emergency stopping lane unless (a) the driver needs to drive in the emergency stopping lane to avoid a collision, to stop in the lane, or because the drivers vehicle is disabled; or(b) the driver is permitted to drive in the emergency stopping lane under another law of this jurisdiction.Penalty: Fine not exceeding 5 penalty units.
